    Very nice, your learning still.

Its most imperative, that the inside of the scales be perfectly flat from the beginning, as well as the wedge. Always make your wedge a bit larger than the scales, this allows room for finishes to be applied.
Then you can mock up with micro screws , and fit the wedge with that nice, clean n tight look. I prefer the use of a file.
If you sand through the finish, just touch it up, let dry, sand and finish....Done.!

Now your ready to pin it up.

Somebody here contacted me about buying the scales. I'll let them go for a cheap price. I need to buy scales for at least 4 razors I own; my big W. Greaves and Sons, this new H. Boker and Co., a Shumate Prince and a 3/4 Frederick Reynolds. I'll try re-scaling my Shumate first, since I've never pinned any scales before. I'm worried about screwing it up, so I will research it and watch some videos, if there are any here or on YouTube.

Outback, what did you do to your ankle? Nice scale material. What is it? Looks like some kind of ebony?

Here is my newest blade, after polishing it out with .3 micron strop paste and taking it through my stones. It cut a hanging hair fairly well, but I'm sure it will shave well. I was careful not to strop it on the linen or leather side longer than about 30 seconds. I don't think I over-stropped it. I was told that it is possible to do that. Anyways, here it is. Now, I can turn my attention to my Shumate Prince.

Hope you recover quickly. Ok, great. I have a 1' piece of Gaboon Ebony in my woodworking shop, waiting for a very good reason to use some of it. The current price for it, by the board foot, on one website, is $110.! That is sky-high! Yikes! African Blackwood may be just as high or near it. I'll have to look into it.

A bunch of swelling is gone, but it doesn't feel any better. It finally started bruising up this morning. There's a constant burning sensation from my ankle, half way up the side of my calf. Can't put any weight on it, to speak of, without that hot iron feel on my leg. I think there's more going on in there, than was seen in xrays. I heard and felt something pop/crack when I went down. Time will tell, I've done worse to the left, a mirical It works OK.
