Cleaned up the Red Imp, that my spy's picked up for me, earlier this year.

Took it apart, gave it all a thorough cleaning, removed all traces of gunk and blueing, especially the tang, flatten the warped scales, taped off the blade with scotch tape, to re blue.
Filled the tang stamps with gold leaf paint, (stamp on scales were too shallow) and pinned with nickle silver rod, and SS under collar washers.

Edge is in great condition, so its not gonna take much on the rocks.

Scales have shrunk a bit, but she still clears.

Off to the rocks.!!

Great job, Mike, It always gets me how the Red Imp scales shrink. Nice job on the tang, now that's perfection right there! and the pins are spot on for that razor.

We need to preserve our shrinking Imps!




A man who has been into razors for decades told me once that Case Imps were made of Bakelite with the carbon lightened-up so that color might be added.

If I post this on the forum, I am dismissed.

However, nothing shrinks quite like a Case Red Imp?

Most definitely.
Once it starts hitting, its coming out.!
As well as the other one I have around here, in the rotation "pile". It needs proper scales, too.
