Thanks Roy I can always count on you to help I see you didn't show to watch me sand any ideas beyond mine to use these for. I can't play piano may as well tear it apart and use it.

Just a thought -- if you're in an experimental mood you could make a glulam from several, make scales out of that.

I was just thinking about how to glue them together and make scales, liners would be a must these are super thin. Great idea.

Is it thick enough to maybe make a wedge for a razor, paired with black or brown horn, or ebony? Could be a neat little detail.

It's super thin, I'll have to measure but really thin. I do believe I can glue a bunch together and make 1 wedge but scales would be a better use I believe. I'll keep you guys posted!

Eric my immediate thought is 1/32 black G-10 liner, three pieces of ivory with black horn or shell strips about an 1/8 of an inch between each piece. It could be hot. Of course there is no limit to mixing other materials with the ivory pieces either. I have some broken ivory scales that I have been saving for similar projects.

Yes, Yea! I have some dark horn scales already made might put some inlays in. But scales with liners is my thoughts as well. I'm gonna have to sand each one and plan, plan ,plan.

Like all spectacular projects Eric, it is all about the planning and the details.

Sorry I was a no show as I was cooking a red sauce with fresh local tomatoes, onions etc for supper. However I was there in Spirit as I was enjoying some really cold beers along with cooking and sweating since my landlord hasn't replaced the defunct wall mounted air conditioner/supposed to be installed tomorrow.

You know, you could always salvage the wood for scales and brush handles and use some of the wires to make cheese cutters/just thinking
