An appropriately sized piece of shrink tubing would be easy, comes in different colors too.

    Hay! I can do that!

Here is my pair of cutters I use for razor pins. Snap-on truck caught fire and melted the handles-off. Got them cheap. 3 layers of heat shrink!

    Scenario #1

Useful tool used everyday made by???

Heat shrink is a great idea.

    Scenario #2

You want to learn a new thing? Everyday tool, made by?

    How do I wrap this.

Cut it off ten times until it is right.

    Great idea.

    Scenario #3

Collector piece because it is the latest fad and I don't have any idea what I am doing.

Send it to someone that is good and post it for sale to make my money back.

    Great idea.

Many other scenarios but it comes down to what you have and the end result that you want.

The trouble with that is that you buy a can then dip two tools and then 95% dries out before you use it again.

    Default Plan for my Packwood

So I'm using images of another Packwood blade posted on SRP as a guide for shape. I'm a little on the fence about the width of the scales on the wedge end. The dark upper line in the sketch is the width I'm leaning towards. Just below is a fainter line that I think is a little low. Might sneak up on something in the middle when I start final shaping. Going to use some tortoise Kirinte and some of AJkeene's wonderful brass flower collars. Going to go with a lead wedge and I'm toying with sandwiching it between some thin sheets of brass. Thoughts?
