Yes indeed, pretty sure the older ones had this type of watchmaker screw while the newer one just had a slotted screw, LeCoultre is much more famous as a watchmaker then razor maker.

I went all the way when I bought my tools for carving bone. I started with a 5" engravers vice and a set of engraver chisels. The chisels are most often seen advertised as gravers. There are several different types of metal that they are made from. It was a bit of a learning curve trying to figure out how to sharpen them. I have a few tutorial threads I would like to try. This is one of them. All in good time though as I am still at the early stages of learning myself. Other people can do the carving with a dremel, I tried and it makes no sense to me. I have a ton of bone blanks in transit so there will be a lot more carving going on here. I have some done for my projects but not nearly enough. I was counting razors today and I have a lot of carving to. Do here. I think I am going to try carving some horn too. It is going to be tricky though. I think if a guy want to get good at it he needs to go hang out in India for a couple of months. Slowly learning a little more every time.
P.S. Sorry, RezDog, I should have said...
RezDog makes beautiful scales from a myriad of materials. The scales in question are made of bone.

I strained the homemade bay rum this morning and used it for my Caveman to Shaveman shave. Very nice scent that wasn't overpowering but more importantly was how soothing it was on skin that hasn't been shaved for a week. No, I didn't take a good sip of it like Dad did. I'll be waiting for cudarunner's results on his try at Mom's recipe.

So the bottom one is the one I just got the other day, got the slight smile back, Un pinned it cleaned the scales and re pinned. Honing with the toe worn was a bit different but went well enough. Shave was not the best though.. no irritation or burn after just didn't seem quite like my others.
Oh re pinning fixed the wedge to toe issue and gonna have to blunt the toe got myself a couple times then gonna fill in the lettering on the scale see how that goes.

Give it a try sometime Mike. To me the lighter scent means it won't clash with my cologne should I decide to give myself a spritz with Stetson. I'll be faceturbating and sniffing my mustache all day.

Well, My wife went to Yoga, I threw on some cartoons for the girls, and I got down to business with my Ator. It's been sitting here begging me to clean it and hone it. After an hour of just metal polish, I am sooo pleased with the outcome. I've never had a razor clean up so well without taking it apart, and what a good blade to have it happen on. I'm grinning ear to ear with this one.

And just for chits and gigs, I tested the edge on my arm hair. Surprisingly, it was shaving. I'll take my loop to the edge, and see if there's anything that needs to be honed out, but it may only need a touch up. Crazy stuff.

I do have a nice batch of home brew, from Cheferik. I'll have to try your mamma's once I run out.

Nothing better than a good shave, that makes you want to 💆 all day. Harr !!
