Thanks Mike. I think that was my first collerless pinning on ivory so I feel more confident now. I have done it before but it was on bone or horn. The pics do this baby no justice. It's a beauty in person.

I'd like to see it in person, but I can tell from the pics. I've been to the rodeo a few times myself. Haha.! [emoji56]

Thanks Tom, it went quite well. Once it began to get snug, I stopped so the scales didn't crack or bust.

I had thought that after I had pinned a few sets of ivory scales that I would get to be less nervous, but I have not gotten less nervous as time passes.
    That project turned out awesome.

Thanks Shaun. I made sure I felt comfortable before I proceeded on with it. If I didn't, I would have left it until I did feel comfortable. Hopefully, future ivory jobs go the same as this one.

I have a nice set of carved ivory scales that had a worn out Joseph Rodgers & Sons blade in it, so I think the ivory came from the famed Rodgers ivory room. When I find a decent blade for that one, I'm going to be extra careful with it.

I am just wet sanding some scales I have been working on.
Bone & G-10 with silver inlays.
I have some boxes in the shed that the glue is drying on.

Smoking some turkey legs for a couple hours, and cleaning out the garage at the same time. So the Mrs. can get her car in for the winter. Also means my drill press and band saw are down stairs where they belong now, in the shop.

I am also finishing up a set of liners on some ivory scales that have a crack.
I tried nail polisher remover, and starter fluid and brake clean to get the crack clean but nothing was working so I lined them anyway. They are not ideal but I think they are better than what they were.
