It may be the shadows or angle but the blade looks like it has a bit of a frown. If it's shaving as it's supposed to then that's all that matters but I'd think about grinding back the blade edge to eliminate what looks like thinned out spots on the edge in the fist pic, if they don't go much further toward the spine.
I agree with Hart. After going back & looking at it, it might have a slight frown. If you do like he mentioned & re-hone it, it might be much better. When you get a few more bucks, you might want to invest in some more hones. I'm sure that is already in the plans though. The 3000 might work for you now but some finer ones will greatly improve the edge. Still not bad for a beginner. It'll only get better as time goes.

Sharp eye, you are correct. It was still arched a bit when I was done with it. I spoke with the owner it asked if you wanted me to go further. When he saw the blade. He was shocked it had looked that well. Whom ever had it prior or maybe himself had beat it down pretty good. So he was happy with it as it was. I struggle often with O.C.D. In those situation I have learned to leave it to the client or owner. As was I spent a little over 3 hours sanding it and honing it by hand. That thinned spot was the deepest scar from what I can only assume was a dermal bit. I find myself fixing that very say situation on guns, knives and swords that people bring me. I like files sandpaper and stones. machine if I have to. But I try to keep it to a minimum.

Wow Bruno, those blades look awesome.

I'm rescaling several razors and cleaning up some blades a little. I'm working with G-10, wood, and would like to get some horn. I got a G-10 sheet from Blade Show 2015 for $5 and it was large enough to get several sets out of. I'm going to try and hone some of the blades too.
