Thanks. This will be my first machete. I am curious how it will hold up.

In this case I think I'll pass.
I did once shave with a log splitting axe that I'd honed up to 8000 grit. Sadly, no pics were taken. It was a bit nerve wracking, because the weight was enough that a mistake would make it cut through a vein. For a machete though, the bevel angle has to be pretty steep to make sure it survives repeated impact. I doubt it would shave well.

    Thaeris:
I don't take orders so much anymore. I want to take time for my own projects and razors.
    But this one....... Couldn't refuse
It'll be one more time a stressful restoration, but I can't wait to have this baby looking good once again

Thaeris, you seem to always acquire some beauties to restore! Great score.................

I still have to do a lot of polishing before HT, to save myself as much time as possible after HT.

And a couple of razors that were heat treated today.
    Crappy cell phone pic alert.

Bruno, I can't wait to see how the machete comes out! Great work!

some works in progress. This is the third modification to the farrier rasp razor, but the one i'm most happy with. The other one was one my mentor had cut and flat ground, a long time ago.

I'm going to need a bigger bathroom

Working on my motorcycle. With 86K miles and 20 years old it always needs a bit of maintenance.
