Thanked: 250Wostenholm update.
Tom, I hit the nail right dead center with the progression. First of all let me say that all of my razors, except this one, are true straights and full hollow grinds. This morning I could have quit with one pass WTG it was so sharp and smooth but for my full test I had to do my usual 4 pass. Things I noticed about this razor is that it does its work without talking to me......no sound like my hollows. The thing is so heavy it just glided down my face. Another thing I noticed is that it really fit the contours of my old face because of the smile. My beard is really tough and this thing just mowed the crap off on my chin, below my lower lip, and jaw line. My face feels like polished glass.Last edited by Benz; 12-25-2016 at 02:59 PM.

Sounds like a new favorite to me. It is nice when it all happens exactly as you planned it. :-)It's not what you know, it's who you take fishing!

I'll be joining you today, for a 7/8 Wosty shave, Benz.
It'll be its last shave for me before returning home to Tom.
It has been the most awesome shaver, that's ever touched my face. An edge created by man, but touched by God for sure.
A two pass, BBS, yes sir..!!
But always do the full "Monte", for the polished glass affect.
Merry Christmas to you. And to y'all.Mike

Thanked: 250I think you're right RezDog, this thing is a real keeper. I scored it off of fleabay and probably paid too much but it sure was worth it in the pleasure it gave this morning. It was really dirty but under the crud I found beautiful black horn scales that needed just light sanding and polishing. The blade had minimal hone wear on the spine and no rust or pits. There was one tiny chip near the heal that the bevel setter took care of. All honing was done with a single layer of tape to protect the spine and the crud on the blade I gently removed with 0000 steel wool. I could have easily gave the blade a super mirror finish but instead I left the gun metal gray patina like my John Doe no name. In my mind, to give a mirror polish on a blade that is probably 150 years old would be like dressing an 80 year old grandmother in a mini-skirt. After I'm dead if the person, who inherits it, wants the mirror finish they can do it themselves.

Enjoying a dark, stout, beer.
And thinning some scales for Boss, sharpton.
Figured I'd take a pic, since the beer is as dark as the scales.

All thinned out. Had to go 10000ths thinner than original scales to obtain flexibility in the scales, even though Tom wanted them identical.
And have paper/glued them back together for shaping.
.
These beers are pretty tasty, and are going well with the Wild Turkey, Rare Breed. Better pace myself, the beers are 9%, and the whiskey is 56.4%.
Feeling omfirt Lee numm, now!!Mike
