Hard to beat the natural perfection. The brass-lined wedge also accentuates same and the hand-made collars by Tuzi send it over.

Shape and workmanship are stupendous. Done the 'outback way'!

    You Gotter' DONE! Nice!
    Thank You

Also, thanks to Steve, Tuzi, and esp MikeT (wherever the hell he is...) For parts and pieces!
    A collective masterpiece.
Yes,..we must not leave out MikeT, for without his help, this would not have become.

Thanks Mike, we know your lurking out there.[emoji53]

Great work on those scales Mike. Nice exacting replica effort brother!

Offers open for some laser inlay action of course Tom.
I've been busy in the shop on another little project involving that ancient bog oak these last couple days
    Not razor related though.

Evidently, it's called morta in the pipe world and is said to make a good pipe due to the insulating qualities of the petrified wood. I really like turning this stuff, harder than most wood and takes the cutting tools nicely.
Jimmy posted a link to a pipe made with it, on the brush thread I did, and I got interested.
Considering the spookiness of how old it is, makes a great smoking pipe I think as well..

I think tobacco pipes are really cool. There are so many shapes and woods. I'm not sure I would ever smoke one, but a shelf full of them in the man cave would look very cool.

    DARK..!!
This stuff is black as midnite.
With a finish on it, it has the grain, and look of black horn.

Horn on right, unfinished bog oak, on left.

    Finished bog on left.
