Picked up this Kukri 360 last week at the flea market and just finished fixing it up. The scales were split at the pivot so I made new scales for it using acrylic. Used a wedge I had from my "spare parts" box and it fit really nicely. Cleaned up the blade and pinned it with nickel sliver and tiny stainless washers. Going to hone it and get it ready for a test run tomorrow.

Those are acrylic scales? Wow, love the pin job as well...sheesh, now I'm going to have to find some razors to buy so I can use that material.

Can you share the specs on the acrylic and where you got it? Those scales are smokin' gorgeous....

Thanks, guys! I have a feeling this one will be a great shaver. Yes, the scales are made from 1/8 inch acrylic sheet shaped down thinner, rounded, polished, etc. If you google "tortoise acrylic sheet", search in google images and you will see many options. Also on ebay search Tortoise Marble Acrylic Plexiglass Sheet 12"x9"x.125".

Also, searching "marble acrylic sheet" or "swirl acrylic sheet" in google images leads to some interesting choices.

Size: 31.8 KB I've been collecting, restoring and making scales for about a year now. It's been a fun hobby/addiction. I just wanted to post my small collection of razors I've completed, razor/brush box I made and what stones I use to hone. I'm always looking for new razors to work on and stones to get that perfect edge. Thank you to everyone who has helped and has given much needed advice to get me this far.

2 W&B wedges both 5/8 cleaned up next scales. 1 gets camel bone the other black horn. Then to the stones, this is so much fun!

I'm always interested!! I have been wanting to try and do horn or maybe camel bone handles. I don't get to far from home when I go looking. This town is picked over for the most part.
