    @Sharptonn:
Yes, the Scales are similar to those "Clip" Scales from Torrey.
The Blade is still too big for the Scales, the Spine is covered by the Scales but the part of the blade near to the tang shows through the scales.
Also the spine is to big as once clipped in, the blade needs much of power to be clipped out without a Wedge that i could make thinner.

Sounds like the scales were put on the wrong blade?
Some blades just have to have the right shape. I have lots of scales here, but finding the right stuff with existing scales is sometimes a challenge.
I had a Friodur blade a while back and looked hard through the pile and found only one set of about 40 which would fit it right.
The spine was so straight with the tang, it poked-out the bottom of most.
I finally found a banana-shaped set the proper length which fit perfectly. Just one!

Not razor related but working on this marking knife, originally made from a small file.

More then likely made by my grandfather and no doubt my father painted it blue like many of his tools. Came out nice, family heirloom.

Yes they did, the Barber Scales were often put on Razors by those who sold them (Barber Supplies etc.) so the dont fit 100% in most cases.
Interesting that you had your experiences with a Friodur Blade, i have a Bontgen & Sabin with exactly the same Problem, too wide by beeing
shorter than regular, no old sclae tried to fit so a friend of mine made new ones.
Sad that the Kirschbaum Bros. (the Company that makes most of the Solingen Plastic Scales and the TI Plastic Scales i guess) only selles big
batches of scales, the exist since 1913 and im sure they would have old Forms for non-regular sized Razors.

    Finished Toms (Sharptonn) razor tonight.

Pinned using Tuzi's solid brass, domed collars, and nickle silver rod, from Steve. (Engine 46)
The wedge is bullet lead, ( harder than typical lead) sandwiched between two layers of .003 brass shim. Wanted something to go with the collars n pins, and to do a little something different.
YES!! Tom, its the exact same thickness as the original. My fingers still hurt from filing it to .071, so I could use the brass shim.

The scales were slathered in teak oil, and allowed to soak over night, excess was wiped off before assembly, which wasn't much, so their well protected from water...not that I expect wood that's been laying in a bog for the last 5000 +yrs., sucking up tanic acid from all the degrading vegetation, to rot anytime soon. Hell its almost petrified now.

    Off to the rocks..!!🙋

    Yeah Tom, one layer...right!!😏

Tom said no, maybe he's sending it to our mad scientist, to have it done.

I would, if Mikes up to it.
Would really set everything off, too.
