It should look familiar brother.
The hole is original size haven't done anything to it. Filed off the pin, so no drilling.

Thanked: 4826Dave, I would not use paint to highlight the makers mark. It should pop quite nicely with a little bluing. It needs to be perfectly grease and oil free to get a clean and deep bluing, but it sure looks good when it is done.

Yep, I'm with Rez.
If your steady enough, you might be able to do it with a toothpick, wetted with blueing.Mike

Thanked: 4826I never worry about being neat with the bluing. It gets all between the letters, but 2K grit on a hard backer, like wood, will take it off around the stamp but not in the stamp. You can even go more coarse , just match the surrounding finish.

Working on multiple things.
First is the aluminum scales.
I've got them sanded to 1000 grt., but going to 2500 before polishing.
Second is a couple Magna Badger brushes. I just filled the cups with some Duraglass, body filler. Once cured, I'll grind it down to the desired loft, wipe them out with denatured alcohol, and glue the knots in. Probably done within the hour.
Third was another brush, a Ever-Ready, badger bristle, with bone handle.
After dismantling and removing the old knot earlier, I waited for some 35% peroxide, coming from Texas. So last night I soaked the handle in a dilution of 60% peroxide - 40% H2o for 36 hrs. The soaked in water for 3-4 hrs., removed, dried, and allowed to sit, lightly coated in baby oil. During the time the handle soaked, I cleaned up the cup and filled the letters, at least the ones deep enough to hold it.
Then glued in a 18mm knot, setting the loft at 45mm, let it dry then screwed the handle back on the cup.

Great job on the brush and the scales are looking real good as well. They should have a real nice shine to them when you're done
