In all honestly I have one real Kamisori, it does shave well and think most should have one or two, personally I prefer the western style razor.

Tonight had a bit of relaxation, I 're pinned my blue steel 4/8. I didn't have washers and know ow I do so in pin added washers which tightened things up alot. Then touched it up on the 12k then test shave tomorrow. This little beast always smokes through the beard. Nice night of accomplishment rather than failure gonna sleep well
Ill add that pinning is something different to do, not difficult really but an odd challenge. Trying to focus energy on such a small spot and evenly to boot. Can only get better in time. Have a good one fellas

Got a little work done on my paddle strop yesterday. Smoothed and sanded the wood, drilled the hole and fit the leather. I used contact adhesive to stick the leather on there and it worked great, that leather's not going anywhere! Trimmed around the edges after it was set. Still some work to, I'll probably give the wood a little tung oil but don't want it touching the leather and probably give a try at flattening and resurfacing the leather as shown in this thread http://straightrazorpalace.com/works...-tutorial.html
The leather turned out to be 12.5 inches by 3 inches wide

I cannot shave with it often. It makes most things suck.

Well my new W&B special arrived today a couple days earlier than expected
As you can see we have some wonky wear, the stabilizer has been honed on a bit, and she has some heavy toe hone wear. She will need a good cleaning but should be a nice ride when done. Hopefully get to it later today.

The hanging strop I recently made from this hide has been doing an excellent job. I've been using it with one particular razor so far (the Holley I put in today's SOTD) just to monitor the effect on the edge, and so far so good.
