Yeah I'd call it a Lewis
Can't see the grind mate. If it's symmetrical it's simply a razor, ie kamisori.
If it's asymmetrical in the Japanese style, you could call it Wa-Kamisori even if it were not laminated.
The lamination process was used to save on the precious tamahagane but you sometimes see Jp kitchen knives made from one solid piece of steel.
They are called Honyaki.
Have to remember kamisori simply means hair shaver or razor so even vintage Solingens & Sheffiellds are all kamisoriLast edited by onimaru55; 02-02-2017 at 02:18 AM.
The white gleam of swords, not the black ink of books, clears doubts and uncertainties and bleak outlooks.

Well, TBH, I simply call it the finest razor I ever laid to my face.
I am fortunate to have it. Charlie made these in a window of his evolving creative legacy.
Long story....I hope to see him make some more.
I cannot shave with it often. It makes most things suck.

Thank you, men! I was a bit busy today, taking full advantage of my time off work. So here's another, for your viewing pleasure.. although not as nice. I am still looking for the barber who butchered this blade by the way!
Some basic scrubbing with steel wool, followed by Crox and Maas shows some improvement, but all pitting remains. Final pictures after hand polishing, to even it all out will come after the sun comes out again. Just wanna hone and try it at this point, honestly... no, actually at this point I need some sleep ha! As the time passes, so we learn.
