Well, I finished up the paddle strop. Got the tung oil on the black walnut and finished the leather using mainaman's method.

The strops are looking good Sharptonn. You've got way too many though. You'd better send me one when they're done or they're just going to clutter up the man cave.

They were just the leathers. The fabric strops I have made to go with them are from old fire hose. In looking for the linen stuff, it was a long while back that linen was used for fire hose.
Everything I found was old, dirty, nasty stuff. Too much work to clean.
These will have a nylon/polyester blend NOS fire hose from a later date. Nice and clean.
Not as zippy as the linen, but should be quite good for the purpose. It also ironed-out nice and flat. The old Linen seems to 'dust-up' as you strop as well. These won't.

There was a small amount of production in the hoarders corner today.
I finish making three sets of bone scales.
The set that I tried to pin sans washers did not make it.
I pinned up a set on a Friodur 17 and another set on my Guillermo Hoppe 14.
I was just wanting to get them back to work and will make other carved scales for them later, or perhaps just an onlay transfer. I will get back to. Carving when I go back to work. It's not what you know, it's who you take fishing!

Looking good, Shaun.
What's the un-scaled razor?

Thanked: 4827That is a Friodur 14. Those are the scales I broke. It has tear stains on the blade now.
