I'm glad to be part of the production.
Those strop hangers and other components must be getting close to the end of the production run Tom.
I did more playing with my revitalized material.
It is still too brittle for sans washers, I lost one side.
I did make three sets on purpose. I have one set soaking in peroxide to see how it changes the appearance. The third set I pinned up the wayward 14 Friodur from yesterday.
Here is a side by side for colour comparison with yesterday's production in thehoarders corner.

Yes it is somewhat square. So I'd say you're 100% right

Just all kinds of great work in here this evening.
The scales look great and thanks for the side by side Shaun.

Tom the strop hardware looks real good too. You guys have been busy.

Wish I could get more done. But if playing with the 3yr old trumps it all. And this time is the kind you can never get back. We mess with the 4 month old, it's fun. Yeah dads a big kid too. And mommy just shakes her head and says "boys" as she walks away

Indeed, the pivot hole was punched out and not drilled. Some guy sleeved them or epoxy them over and re drill them.

Well I guess this will be a bit more of a challenge than it began. But no worries, I can go either route. I'll see about doing a sleeve before the epoxy and drilling

While it's true that 'Some' use epoxy and sleeves to fill the hole, I find it not necessary.

Believe it or not, your 1/16" rod will hold that blade in the scales quite nicely. You do need to compensate a 'little' for any lateral movement but that movement is very slight.

If you have the original pins I believe that you will find them slightly smaller than the modern 1/16".

    Have fun!

I was not implying that you need to sleeve the hole I was just saying that some guys do that. Personally I totally agree with Roy no need to sleeve the hole its the way it was made and it works just fine. There is also a misconception that the pin rod with use has worn the hole. A soft metal pin in a hardened piece of carbon steel, I don't think so.
