I also am forced to do most of my work inside the Boars Nest, honing by the kitchen sink, pinning drilling etc at the table. Buffing and most sanding is done in the attached garage or if it's nice out on the front steps.

IF you decide to shim the stand to hold your Dremel let me know as I have several different thickness of a cork/rubber/cloth that back in the day was used to hold the glass to the channel for windows in car doors. They might just be the cat's meow to make the final adjustment AND keep your tool from getting marred.

Let me know if you want some and I'll mail it to you.

Back to cleaning the Boars Nest.

Thanks for the offer will let you know 😝

My setup is much as you describe 😂 been sitting on my back steps sanding lately. Damn cold but mostly dry.

Bugger is. I have a hugge garden that could easily fit a good sized workshop. But the land is rediculously wonky and needs levelling out. I should show yall some time 😂

I was able to complete the regrinding on this razor finally. Took a great edge, although I think I could have done a bit more grinding on both sides down towards the toe, I'm happy with how it came out. At least it shaves again which it never would have without the regrind. I have one shave under my belt with it and it was what you would expect from a Sheffield wedge.

I think when they are doing the finish grind on razors , they set the bevel before the grind is complete, that way they can see when it is straight, or at least that is one technique. There are probably as many ways as there is guys grinding razors. I imagine that would help a lot when doing a regrind too. I keep thinking about getting a belt grinder, and then think that it is a serious rabbit hole of razor, knife, and tool making. I am fairly certain I have a lot going on right now already.

Didn't a Clint Eastwood character say it's good for a man to know his limitations?

Ah, thanks, Roy. My memory isn't as good as yours, and I was apparently too lazy to search Google or IMDB.

I stand corrected! The quote i had in mind was the 'Do you feel lucky Punk'.

The 'A Man needs to know his limitations' comes later in the series with the young rouge motorcycle cops and Harry's supeiror is behind them.
