Thanked: 227Cutting some nickel plate for scale backing with my old man.
Usually i get him to do my drilling as he has a press drill. But he came across this and gave it to me for my dremel.
Needs some cleaning and oiling. But should serve my purpose well.

I have one of those for the Dremel. I use it a lot with a sanding drum and a block of wood for detail sanding.

Still, some shims of PCV pipe, split and sized would make it clamp on a Dremel?

Good excuse to pick up a hand drill at a garage sale.

You could still run a sanding drum in there as well, I see that tool as a sweet win I have not seen one of those for several years.

Thanked: 4827A stand like that and a vice and a drill and you have a farm machine shop!
Imagination and some nerve goes a long way.
This buffing wheel setup still gets a lot of use.
I like it a lot because it is slow rolling and has a ton of power. It's not what you know, it's who you take fishing!

Nothing wrong with that setup!
I also am forced to do most of my work inside the Boars Nest, honing by the kitchen sink, pinning drilling etc at the table. Buffing and most sanding is done in the attached garage or if it's nice out on the front steps.
IF you decide to shim the stand to hold your Dremel let me know as I have several different thickness of a cork/rubber/cloth that back in the day was used to hold the glass to the channel for windows in car doors. They might just be the cat's meow to make the final adjustment AND keep your tool from getting marred.
Let me know if you want some and I'll mail it to you.
Back to cleaning the Boars Nest.
Our house is as Neil left it- an Aladdins cave of 'stuff'.
