Talk about multi tasking Mike. Everything is looking pretty good. I don't know that I have ever noticed a brush made from bone before. It must have been the top model at the time it was made.

I have been working with some of my bone. I sent some to Roy to get hydrated with oil in the vacuum chamber. The results are quite pretty.

It's been a fun and informational 'Experiment'. The bone took on an entirely different 'look' after a 24 hour under vacuum with some light mineral oil ( I got the oil from Amazon and apparently it's used as a 'lube' to get animals to pass solid wastes/easier

Anyway to me the bone has a slightly yellowish tint to it but also a more aged look.

    Shaun--Your thoughts?

It started as bleached bone, so it was very white, the yellowed look reminds me a lot of ivory actually. It seems much more flexible than it was. I really like the look of it and will be toying with it for the rest of the day and likely tomorrow too.

About the Bones Looking like 'Ivory'--My Thoughts Exactly! :

I just wanted a second opinion before I posted my opinion saying that it did remind me of Ivory.

Have fun playing with those blanks my friend!

[QUOTE=Addison;1708302]I dont know why but that pivot hole looks a little on the big side

The pivot hole was hand hammered IIRC that is why they are large and some what square. I am 99% positive I remember that right
