Thanks, Martin that's good stuff, you are a wealth of information! I guess it is a rattler then, I think it's the square chunky spine that looked different from other rattlers I have with rounded spines. Funny how they say the blade is liable to vibrations on a strong beard and therefore it "rattles".

I got a couple recent finds through the line up. Now they will just be waiting for the hones. I will likely do a thread on the Johnson. They both got a thorough cleaning and the Vincent got a little hand sanding and a polish. The Johnson I just cleaned and put a patina on it and they both got new clothes.

Nice work Rez, the Johnson looks almost identical to the Packwood I'm working on at the moment.

It might just be going into one of the sets of scales you sent me.

Superb work Rez, you captured the time correct scales and look on the Johnson razor.

Thanks Martin and Mike. I am glad I got some direction on those. They are not quite the collars I was thinking about using but they are the ones I had on hand, and they are kind of funky. I like them. Apparently I got them at a random trip to bead world.

I would tend to put that one under 'Half-Rattler' myself, Tuzi!

I really like the old old Sheffield razors. That packwood is great. Those scales would nice but perhaps some a little more straight would be more period correct.

That's why I said yours "might" be used.
Yes the straight scales would be more appropriate, and fitting to the times.
Gonna be awhile before this is finished, so I got time to think of other options.
