Thanked: 2284You're a life saver Mike! I have a wedge Norton hone that I use for the inside face of my lathe gouges. It was pretty easy to get a good edge on that 1/16 bit, not sure why I was so lazy to do it. Just never dawned on me.

Hey guys, got a question.
This Packwood I'm working on
has a pitted spine as well. Can I remove them without harm to the geometry, or would it be best to leave it be. Its not going to interfere with stropping, but I'm trying to make this one nice and clean, being I've gone this far with it already.

Should be fine, unless you're removing more steel than the hone wear

Thanked: 4827Sand it off Mike, it should not go deep enough to create a separate issue.

I put way too much time in on this for what shows.
My Henckels display case with some of my Henckels razors.
There is a piece of sheet metal, over a piece of wood, it is covered by fabric, and magnets hold everything not quite where I put them. I will have to figure out a better mouse trap, but in the mean time this is it.It's not what you know, it's who you take fishing!
