Bejay that was way better for certain the way to go.
1: paint pen install color
2: wiped with paper towel
3: lightly, lightly ran 2000 over that to get what smeared
4: lightly buffed with 3000 trizact.
Took minutes as stated by my new best friend Bejay! Thanks that worked awesomely.Nothing is fool proof, to a sufficiently talented fool...

Well got the rest of the blade shined up and the letters cleaned out real well.
Used some 91% rubbing alcohol and let it dry for an hour or so and put the bluing on. Now to wait for tomorrow to clean that off and put the blade in the scales.
I think this cleaned up very nicely
