Thanked: 2284Again, very lucky with this one. I didn't do any sanding, just polishing and the pivot seems to be free from rust as well. Put a piece of scotch tape over the gold etch and traced it out. removed it and cut it out with my Olfa knife. Reapplied the tape over the etch and went to town with some Flitz. I seemed to have misplaced my Mothers mag polish, I find it's a bit more aggressive than Flitz but on this one, Flitz did the job just nicely. I got lucky again with a bit of pitting in the middle near the edge. At one point I thought the pitting was going to screw the whole project over but it was shallow and I was able to hone past it.
Oh and all by hand. I don't own a dremmel but have thought maybe I should pick one up. could come in handy with some projects.Last edited by HARRYWALLY; 01-23-2016 at 11:39 PM.

Thanked: 2284Thanks Roy. I'm terrible for misplacing things, but it's only because I'm very unorganized. For the longest time I couldn't find my wifes, grandfathers 4 oz ball peen hammer I use to repin razors. I love that hammer, and had to buy a new one to replace it. I needed one desperately. Of course, I did 1 re pin on a razor and found my good one in my girls toy chest. Probably the first place I should have looked.

So I have cleaned one razor and honed 4 to-day. Ready for some stropping and shaving.
The one I cleaned is pretty cool. It will be for SOTD tomorrow, before football!"Don't be stubborn. You are missing out."
I rest my case.

At least you have 'Munchkins' All I have to blame are 'Gremlins'.
I'd picked up a nice little bench top drill press that according to the reviews has very little run-out and I'd put it together and I love it! Went to use it yesterday and I'll be damned if I could find the key for the chuck that came with it! I found one that would kind of work and got by. Today I looked in the exact same drawer in my tool box and it was right there!
Damn Gremlins!!!Our house is as Neil left it- an Aladdins cave of 'stuff'.

Beautiful razor! Lord knows I could never outwork you, outback.
I suspect I may outclass your ass tomorrow!
I can only try!"Don't be stubborn. You are missing out."
I rest my case.
