Jerry, did you get that as a loose blade?
Is the tang shaped any different than others?

I probably can't offer much help, but a better picture of the blade opened might give someone a clue.

If it fits your hand well when opened for shaving I wouldn't think it is a problem. JMO

Jerry, when I am designing scales, I trace the blade on paper, and then draw the scales over the blade. Super simple line drawings. I help to avoid making scales that won’t work. It’s not perfect but it helps. While you have it mocked try to decide if it will be comfortable to strop. Often it is the stropability that makes scales a go, no go for me.

I do the same thing Shaun, but for some reason, I missed this little detail. I find stropping its ok. Feels different but not bad. You can see the tang sits off center when open out all the way. And the tang angle down more than any others I've had. But now I saw the picture Tom just posted and his has even more angle. Might have to re-think this one. The scales blank was something I had for a while and nothing special.

Yep, I got the blade without scales so I wasn't able to trace them to make new ones.

One more pic. Guessing this is why it feels odd in the hand...

The angles just dont look right.

The edge is in pretty sad shape from pitting so I'm not sure its going to put thru without taking it back a ways. But I had the blank and felt like doing something with it.

It needs to roll easily in your fingers. Other than that it is mostly aesthetics. Kind of an odd drop in the tang on that one. The bottom of the tail almost drops as low as the edge.

Anyway, here are a couple of sets of scales that got the first couple coats of CA that I made today. Getting tired of honing so I thought I'd make more work for myself. Ha.

Yep, I think that's what's messing with me. Damn oddballs. Plus I can't seem to find anything on the name beside it could be French. I think.

Finished up the last set of scales for Sonny's 75ยข Razor.

The stamp was a bit lite, on a few letters, but hey..what'd ya expect for a hundred n so years old, with a broken scale..!!

Hopefully I'll get R honed and pinned up for a Wednesday morning shave, then I can get these home, before daddy finds out someone has been fondling them.

So does anyone see an issue here? I don't have any razors shaped like this so I was working blind on this one. Should I make different scales or stick with these?

Flip the scales and see, Jerry?

Did you get that blade from me? Sharp angle of the tang. It's all coming back to me!
    A dirty trick, it was!
