I tried flipping the scales. Well, it was good practice working with horn again. I will order some more blanks and try again. Id rather it look right and not half-assed.

Nice job on the repair Mike.

Jerry, the scales look like they won’t present any issues in use. I think the problem is the blade shape isn’t what you typically see in a razor with straight scales. Looks odd to me too.

I think it looks fine. It is what it is and I don't think anything else will change it.
Pin it and hone it! Darn French!

    That's what I told him.
Needs a blade from late 1700- early 1800, not suitable for the newer, heeled razors from the 1900s

All right. I guess im going to pin it. Next week anyway. If its too odd durring stropping i will do something else with it. This blade has a lot of fine pitting on the edge so its going to take some work to clean up. I already sanded and polished the blade as much as im going too so... I guess we will see.

Got my Swaty soaking up some minerial oil. Maybe next week i can also play with it. I know vasoline is used for this but i had the other on hand and ive read folks using it too.

Finished up Sonny's 75¢, after work today.

Pinned with silver/nickle rod, and a set of Austin's, silver/nickle collars, and original wedge.
