    OK, I lied. LOL
I couldn't just leave the rust on these two blades. So I spend a few minutes on them after saying I was going to start honing just to clean the rust off...

changed my mind again. Sharpened all the kitchen knives. No honing tonight. At least the wife won't complain when she cooks that roast tomorrow.

Inventory. . . Stuff I haven't seen in years is surfacing
How many doubles and triples do I own?

Downsizing is a thing one can do without! Even a couple years later the effects are being dealt with....

I got to find some better lighting for my room. I hadnt noticed the orange color until you mensioned it Mike T.
    Funny!

Last night i told myself i was going to figure out how the sharpen the kitchen knives. Ive been doing ok, but not getting consistant results. I watched a few YT vids and decieded to go with spine leading strokes only! Pick up the knife on the way back up the stone so no edge leading at all. This helped me to keep my angle consistant as i figured out i was changing the angle when i changed directions.

To did 8 knives finished on a Arshiyama 6k.

Than a few laps on my DIY bench strop. Now if the edge touches a tomoto is slices. Maybe i went too far, but they are sharp now!

Helped the wife by cutting up some veggies with one of the knives I sharpened. Oh my god, those are sharp!

I'm not sure I want her using them. I just hope they hold an edge and I didn't get carried away with the angle.

Keep the stone handy, Jerry. Wife's typically screw up a good edge, pronto. Show her how sharp they are, she'll get accustomed to it. My wife tells me when their getting dull, now.

Yeah, just don't let her scrape veggies across the board with the edge-makes me cringe! I flip the knife, and scrape with the spine of the knife to save the edge!

Almost 14 years now and I still haven’t trained my wife to do that. All she knows are the knives are sharp when she uses them.
