Looks good, Aaron. Saw some kits once for a bolt-action pen.
That was cool, I thought.

Well, after an almost-there test-fit Friday, I selected a deep socket 1mm larger for the barrel portion and added a strip of basswood across the top. A tiny deep socket for the cylinder pin extension, oiled it up, snapped it down, and tried again today.
Calling it done. Snug, but comes out easily and re-holsters same. Flap is easy on and off and it's softer and more pliable.
Think I will hit it with the mink some a few more times. IT's not oily like other things after it goes-in.
Also managed a proper lanyard swivel-ring.
Bought a NOS Makarov black leather lanyard cheap off the bay.
THEN I saw it is coming from Russia. Maybe this year?

I received a razor as a donation for the Giveaway from one of our fine Members and found the scales were in need of some help. Warped to the point the blade's edge would hit the scales. I tried to straighten them without unpinning but was not having much luck. So the next step was to unpin the scales and see if I could straighten them again.
Then another fine Member sent me a stack of wood blanks for scales of what we figured were Sycamore. So I set the warped scales aside for another day and made a set of scales from the Sycamore blanks. This wood was so porous that when I tried to put a layer of CA on the inside to seal the inside from water it soaked all the way through to the front!
At that point, I figured I needed to make them uniform so a full soaking of CA front and back.
After a bit of sanding and knowing the scales were sealed damn well, Ha, Ha, I put 12 coats of Tru-oil on them and pinned them up with the Rosset collars and brass pins. The blade centers nicely and now it's going to need a little touch-up on the stones. As I said in the beginning, this is for the Giveaway so someday this will belong to one of you. I hope you like the outcome and I enjoyed doing the repair.
It's just Sharpening, right?

Nice Job That's a unique looking grain, any chance of getting a close up? Just wondering

I will try but the camera isn't liking the grain. It's like it's always moving. Or that its just me always moving. LOL. Let me see...
OK, It was just me. Dammit!
And look at that pinning I did. What do ya know, I'm getting better after how many years?Last edited by Gasman; 11-18-2020 at 02:15 AM.

I knew you had it in you!
Maybe a new 'Nickname' for the wood could be 'Tiger Wood' as it sure reminds me of a Bengal Tiger's stripes
By they way, you've been doing nice work for quite some time------------Our house is as Neil left it- an Aladdins cave of 'stuff'.
