Thanked: 4826They are still very nice scales, and nicely installed nice blades. I have no constructive comments to make, other than, good work.
Also thank you for the kind words. It's not what you know, it's who you take fishing!

Very cool, Jerry-I like Beverly. They remind me of the cartoon pin-up women you see on the old B-17's and other war planes from WWII.
There are many roads to sharp.

Yes, Aaron. That was the idea, Sorta. Pics of females from way back. They have been used as art and statements for years so I figured I was safe. Hell, even my wife likes them.
It's just Sharpening, right?

Thanked: 56I still think it'd be neat to put a pinup girl on my truck. Just not enough to look for an artist to do it
If you're wondering I'm probably being sarcastic.

The same bars with more progress.
Top is o1, 02, 52100, 15n20. 6/8 thick, 1.75 wide, very long.
Bottom is o2 15n20, 6/8 thick, 1.25 wide.
Both are about 90 layers. The top ones is interesting because the layers will all have varying thickness.Til shade is gone, til water is gone, Into the shadow with teeth bared, screaming defiance with the last breath.

This old Stenton blade has been stuck to the magnetic jig with wine corks, sandpaper strips, a can of WD on my desk pullout for a year. Every month or so, I would go on a sanding jag. My hands would hurt and I would give it up.
Don't have a before picture. There is one WAY back in this thread, though. Somewhere!
It had a Masonic etch, barely visible and some fine, deep pits and rust.
Anyway, I decided enough of the sanding. Now, I am applying water-based diamond paste using the back side of some fabric-backed crocus cloth as the paper towels would wear out before the diamonds were done and this holds-up to the rubbing.
roughest I have is 9.0 and it will make black paste fast. You can rub a long time after that and still do good.
Next up I have 2.0. I think the 1.0, 0.5, and .25 I have don't do near as much so I will go with the rougher stuff till I get it like I want it. I do say if anyone wants to do a mirror like the old crocus should try it. I think enough work I can get there.
It's really shiny and even now with exception of remaining scratches.
Almost ready to call it done. This hurts the hands too.....Gotta get this done. I have special scales and collars!
