Almost time for me to start back on some restoration projects. The hand is still a little weak but I have honed up a couple so far. Boy have I got projects to finish.

You may not have been able to do much for restoration, but the finger did not seem to hold back you ability to cruise EBay.
    :-)
It could be odd if I ever get caught up in razor restores. I’ve had so many on the todo board and on the bench for so long, it just seems normal.

TBH, I have many old razors to restore. My thought was a great hobby as I get older. As I must save my hands for profitable work, esp at this time, I must put them aside. Nothing much on ebay or anywhere for sale interests me anymore. The cream is gone and fortunately some is in my possession.
I am into one at a time, no matter how long it takes. I still look, but not often. A hobby has to be rewarding so I play as I have time.
I am just happy to have a good little pile of worthwhile projects, parts and pieces to accomplish as time goes by without any further expense.
When I can. As I can. Seeing others accomplish gives me much pleasure.

Yet I am REALLY itching to get this one finished!

Yeah, I guess that's about normal for me too. I kinda went coyote in the lamb pen buying stuff on eBay. I've gotten away from lots since I saw how much of my collection was junk from them. I would sometimes buy a lot for just one or two which is fine until you have a couple of hundred wind chime candidates.

Speaking of the finger, I guess this fits into the "what are you working on," category.

I'm not one to take no for an answer. They told me I would probably need to remove it even after the surgery but my goal is 100% recovery. That first joint is non-existent but I have a little motion in it which they told me I wouldn't. To quote Bugs Bunny, "He don't know me too well do he?"

Your finger is looking good at this point. Still a long way to go I'll bet. Keep healing and progressing!

Paul, if you coat your finger nail reminants with CA glue it will give it the best chance of growing out somewhat normal-ish. It takes quite a while, but while that finger is not completely active is the very best time. It has healed well.

Second Skin, also works well, it is a liquid that forms a flexible plastic layer, remove the second skin at night to allow it to get air. Cover lightly with a band aid to keep from getting blood on the sheets.

I had a deep gash in the palm of my hand, second skin allowed it to heal quickly and was flexible enough to let me keep working with it. Healed up in a couple of weeks. I covered the gash and second skin with a band aid and duct tape to keep clean, I cannot work with gloves.
