I dug this blade out of the drawer. It was in sad shape. With a little time and polish and a bit of buffing I was able to make it good enough to pin up in some scales I had from another drawer. Can anyone tell me the manufacturer or has anyone seen this on a blade? It says "Keenest Antiseptic". There is no names on the tang at all. The best I've been able to find is "Felt Pad Razor" used to have Antiseptic on there blades and sometime another word above that word but I've not seen the word Keenest.

Any help with this would be great.

Guessing its a German blade sold by a hardware store in the USA or something along those lines. And maybe 1930's pre war. Still, if anyone has a blade like this let me know. Thanks...

Time to put it in the Needs Honed Cup!

Last goofy firearm project and it's back to motorcycles and/or razors.
Always wanted an old Victory Revolver from the war, but saw a 23 dollar holster on the bay. NICE repop.
Naturally my k-frame pistol had to be pounded-in. Googled stretching holsters and they say no stuff you put on boots.
They say gentle, natural heat from hand-rubbing the leather. Hair drier will ruin the fit..They say...

Tom crams the pistol in, heats holster up with a blow drier, and slathered the holster with mink oil.
Done that a few times. Now it's packed with 4 sockets. Biggest is a deep 36mm. Pounded-in and tight.
Gonna be heat and mink for a few days. Might work out.
    Looks like a pregnant guppy!

    Tom - don't do this!!

Looks great - I hope it works out.

It was in original condition, faded red, well-worn, but nice.
This was and still is my favorite combination; beautiful, original, and worn.

Nice looking holster, hope things work out as far as the fit goes.
Better too loose to start, can always snug back up a snitch in time.

Oh well. Nothing ever seems to quite fit for me.
Besides, some of my proudest moments are when I actually make something fit!

Just soak the holster in warm soapy water until it is soft, 5-15 minute.

Wrap the gun in Saran wrap to protect the gun. Drain the holster well and pat dry. Put the gun in the holster and mold the leather to the gun, using your fingers, wooden dowels, a large marble or chrome socket to force the leather tight to the gun. A marble, ball bearing or chrome socket work well to mold a tight curve, were 90-degree bend in the leather is needed or for details.

Once the leather is molded to the gun, remove, unwrap, dry and oil the gun. The leather will shrink a little but that is a good thing and will mold better to the pistol with use.

Oil the leather well once it is half dry. Leather will stretch quite a bit, if you want a loose fit, just stuff the gun in the holster and work on stretching the high spots. You can repeat the process as often as needed.

Yup. That's what I read. This was not intended to be a 'fitted' type holster to begin with.
The pistol has sights that would shred saran wrap on the way in as tight as it was to begin with.
I might do the warm soapy water thing with my sockets stuffed in if this does not work.
But it's slowly getting better anyway!
