Noticed the pool level dropping and had to figure out why.

Gawd damn,, not what I need as fall sets in, but the liner is over 15 years old and owed us nothing more. Typically they last 10 years, but I run my chlorine very light, which extends the life of the vinyl.
Think the crazy storm last week that dumped an extra foot of water in the pool was the stretching point that broke things, or tore things to be more accurate.
Guess I’ll be calling the poolguy tomorrow for recommendations around replacement options. The split is where the bottom meets the side. No fixing that.
    What fun,,,,

I reckon you will have to learn how to reline it yourself, Mike!

Tom, thats a hell of a big job you got yourself into. I feel for ya.

Mike, i hear they get a lretty penney on those new liners now days. Plus installation aint cheep. Find someone with lots of experiance as ive heard people doing bad jobs with lowcost liners. We dont have a lot of pools in Colorado but my dad who lives in California talks about that stuff a lot.

Good luck to both of ya.

I would just order a pile of sand and a half pile of topsoil and rent a bobcat!

Everyone I know who has one is constantly working on it. Some love their pools, though!

I just jump into the lake. At least that's what everyone tells me to do.

IF we didn’t just do all those backyard Reno’s around the pool maybe filling it in but not after all that work.
Besides, a new liner will be a bit of a face lift and change the look of the water quite a bit.
Me, love the option of a dip on a hot summer night, and it looks nice all summer too.
Add to the resale if we decide to sell in the next decade also.

Lots down here are going with a nice deck, some stonework, and a shallow galvanized stock tank.
Most have overdone it with full sized pool filters and such. Just a dab of bleach and after a week, water the yard with the drain on a hose.

Sitting around, cooling off, drinking stuff. Whilst the mosquatos gnaw on exposed flesh...,..
