Like a plastic surgeon. We can have our lady's fenders tucked, set of stacks coming thru the hood, new gaskets on the fuel sucker. Almost like new, again. Just need to roll back the odometer.

Looks good. Lil sand paper or DMT to smooth it out, clean up with 3M, probably hard to notice. Nice save.!

But there's more to enlightenment, young grasshopper.

Your silver solder looks pretty good. A wee clean up and all should be good.

Not perfect but not bad altogether. There are some scratches from the clean up but those will be covered by the scales.

Frederick's is at 600, and looking pretty good. Moon craters and all pitting gone, but for a few wee little black spots towards the heal on each side of the blade faces. And managed to get most of the pitting on the tang without losing too much of the stamp, and get the grind lines cut back into the back side of the tang.

Scales were pretty dry, so I scrubbed um with totally awesome and a toothbrush, flattened, CA,ed and clamped a large delamination, sanded and threw um in oil bath.

Blade should be done tomorrow, and then I'll start on whatever the scales need.

Looks damn good, Paul. But I think I'd resand the whole length of both sides of the tang, to make sure all is flat n true.

I'm just thinking if not, it's gonna give u hell with keeping proper tension on the scales throughout use, once pinned.

Did that. That was why I didn't want to over-sand. If I sanded all the scratches out then the tang will be too thin and the blade will not center correctly and it will be too snug a fit. Been down that road already.

I could do a mock up but until the scales are done it is moot. That is tomorrow's project
