Thanked: 4827That’s the work level we typically see from you, outstanding. There are a few reasons I didn’t mind waiting, that it would be great was the one I felt was most important.

It's no means perfect. I left some errant scratches on the blade faces from polishing, but it gives it that used but not abused look about it. It just wouldn't look right , while still having some pitting throughout the razor.
I only used one layer of tape, with a 3/4" piece added at the toe. Back side bevel, is a little wider at the toe, than the show side. But it shaved really nice.
I'll add to this, that when I tape a wedge for honing, I don't use the whole width of the tape. I trim it to only cover the edges of the spine. The use of the whole width can cause the contact point on the hone to be nearer to the center of the blade. If y'all understand what I'm saying. Just something I learned to do, from Geezer.Last edited by outback; 01-19-2024 at 01:27 PM.

Going back to a razor I cleaned up several years ago, when I first started into the realm of restoration.
I never sanded all the pitting out of it, then. It's just plain ugly to me now, since honing my restoration skills. No more ugly chicks on my face.
Paul sent a set of proper scales, to replace the ones I made for it. So....looks like another trip into the Outback, once again.
It'll become the baby in my family of Reynolds. A near 6/8, wedge.
So y'all understand what I'm working with, here. Easier to see, when sanded.
