Well, I have a W&B Lord Byron straight razor I got not long ago because I have the matching box for it. Someone at one time replaced the scales on the razor because i have never seen a W&B with scales like the ones shown but I do have a set that will work so I have been working on it. The scales that were on it look similar to ones I have seen on Worchester straight razors & possibly others.

Here I have it mocked up with an old pin I cut off another razor. The box matches the razor.

That is pretty educational, Steve! Were it not for the blade etch, I may have labeled that as a regrind!

Tom, the strange thing about the blade I was swapping out the scales on tonight is that this one does not have the number on it. I originally had the box you see up above & one day someone listed the other one you see in the Butcher Shop for $25 BIN so I pounced on it like a tiger on prey! I have had this other box & I saw another razor a few months ago but when I saw it, it had about 3 seconds to go & I couldn't bid on it in time. I don't know why this one doesn't have the number 1140 on it unless they just simply forgot to stamp it!

Thought the same thing Kimosabe. Another way to say it, is that if you slapped a big 'ole wedge on that shank and tail, it would look normal.

    Started as this :

Now it's almost ready to put back together.

Not perfect by any means but I am happy with it since it is my first attempt. Here is to hoping that I don't break the new red heart scales! [emoji482]
    Have a great day!

Man! That looks good, Craig! I could recommend about 2-3 layers of tape on the spine as you hone it!

So the OPs original question is "What are we working on?"

For the past week I've been working on my wife. Now before you jump to conclusions and trust me there are many we could jump to, I've been slowly educating her on the history of Wootz, Damascus, and modern day steel alloys. I've been romantizising the long lost history of Wootz to her and how owning a piece of this lost art would be almost as amazing as being married to her.

At the same time I'm working with a gentleman on a design that I hope will blow her away. That way when I get to the point of buying it, she won't flip out and lose her wig.

I'm trying to warm her up to the idea of how awesome it would be.

    Wish me luck....

So can you share what you and Bruno are working on as far as a custom razor idea that you can sell the lovely bride on?

If you succeed please post detailed info on how you managed to convince your wife of something, anything!
I am sure I cannot be the only one who could benefit from your great and awesome skills!
