WHOA Tom, that turned out beautiful!!!! I saw an Attaboy the other day but it was the coffin only. I love that, it sure came out really gorgeous.
As for the Boker's, I had my eye on one that went up yesterday or the day before & It had a BIN price on it so I went back today thinking I might get it but someone bought it. Oh well, I guess it wasn't meant to be! Red Injun's are nice but they seem to bring usually $50-$60. I have seen a few slip below the radar & go for a lot less. I have a 101 & a 102. I also have a 100 but it needs a blade.
I've been working on a Lecoultre 4 day set ever since the one I had was a friends & he pawned it to me for $50 & I told him if he ever wanted it back, he could buy it back for the same price. Awhile back he told me he was missing it & if I still had it & I told him of course & if he wanted it back & he said yes, he had the money so I said come on! Well, since I have a 7 day set & a couple 2 day sets & another for parts plus some singles plus a few spare parts, I wanted another 4 day set & found one not long ago for a good deal. When I got it, all the blades were consecutive like my other sets but they were dirty as if they had rust on them so I was able to clean 'em up with steel wool & some oil. Turned out to be grime instead of rust. Also one of the blades fit just a tad loosely so I took one of my single ones & took the screws out & found a longer screw. It worked out & the shorter screw worked out in the single so all is good. The loose blade isn't loose anymore. It also had a 2 day blade sleeve in it for holding the spare blades but one of my 2 day sets had a 4 day sleeve so I swapped those out as well. My parts set says 3 Lames on the box so that means it was a 3 day set. I need to do some swapping between the singles.........I might be able to put together a 3 day set, if not now, eventually I will.
From left to right ~ Incomplete 3 day set, 2 day set, 2 day set, 4 day set & 7 day set.
These are my singles I have also. The two on the left are more than likely the oldest with short tails. One of them I can't get the screw out but I just got it not long ago.

[QUOTE=HARRYWALLY;1619307]Drew I believe that after all our ugly restores, we may be getting a little more selective in straights.
I am always up for a challenge, that said,I think how many hours when picking up a blade in my hands.
I still cant control my heartbeat yet, I want to restore everyone I touch. Good for you.Your only as good as your last hone job.

So first a little neats feat oil.
2 its going to be a short stroke.
So lets run with that. Curl that frayed side under and use it for a hold on to spot.
Soapy brush after neatsfeet dries . beater blade after that to ensure no debris in the leather.(feel for grit)
It aint high class, but it beats no strop.
Or like Mike said. New leather and use the hardware.Last edited by ultrasoundguy2003; 04-04-2016 at 12:42 AM.
