Thanked: 4206And no need for me to ask again where exactly you want the inlay burnt in. That last pic is most helpful.
Testing the size and scale in a wood tester piece tonight, think I'm almost there.
Learning little tricks with each inlay I do. Now I super zoom on the image and using a phot editor I undercut all my lines slightly so there is a better delineation where I want to leave plastic poking through the inlays. So much easier than trying to remove it after the laser does it thing.
Will try the test scale with ink on it tomorrow night probably.."Depression is just anger,, without the enthusiasm."

Whoah! THAT blade looks familiar as well!
Nice one, Mike! Should be a great shaver! A great piece of usable American history!"Don't be stubborn. You are missing out."

Thanked: 4206Working on payin a little back too tonight Tom.
Aside from the test scale you sent me being extremely brittle the test burn turned out pretty good.
Happy with the size, just going back into the image to edit out a bit of the inside stuff that's not needed and preventing the inlay from sitting right down in the pocket. A little bit off around the arse, eye, and arm area and we shall be good.
Few more test burns than on to the main event..
Those scales look perfect on that Union blade Mike. Nice job bro..Last edited by MikeB52; 05-07-2016 at 04:28 AM.

Mike, I now recall that the amber test piece I sent you MAY have been coated with Poly, and yes, it was quite brittle.
You might want to sand and polish a bit on the next test piece before burning?"Don't be stubborn. You are missing out."
