Now THAT'S SICK! :rofl2:
Well I thought I would try something when this perfect set of vintage horn scales just fell apart. There must have been a weak spot on them. I never saw anything like it happen before. I decided to try & see if I could fix 'em. Here's what they looked like when they fell apart:

I used some medium CA so I could move it to the right spot before it started setting up. Then there was a third piece. A small piece came off as if it were delaminating from the top piece so I CA'd the top piece to the scale first, then I cleaned it all off, got any extra glue off & I CA'd the bottom piece on & filled in all the gaps. The top pieces went together all the way so I think I need to sand it a little more but this is what it looks like after 24 hrs soaking in neatsfoot oil.

Then in this last pic, there was a part of them where it was delaminating in the center a little so I got my CA ready, pulled it up with my thumbnail & I CA'd it & pushed on it with a toothpick until it had set. I still need to sand it down.

It looks like they might turn out okay as long as they hold up but I have applied enough pressure to break it off again but it is a strong bond so far.
So I have this 6 foot high, stacked Malaysian gal for a barber, long story....
Anyhoo, as I sit in the chair and she has me prisoner, she starts in on how nice my chairs are and how I should restore hers. I smile, get my nice hug, and pays my 10 dollars. Been going on for years! :D
Called her bluff! Went and got the chair, delegated the 6 upholstered pieces to my Mexican-bred brother and the chrome and aluminum polishing to her South-African husband (Talks funny! :)).
All coming to fruition except I have to find some spray cans to match this orangy-red she chose and paint the side and back panels.....
So the Malaysian is out the upholstery bill, the Mexican wants to get paid, the South African is pissed, I get free haircuts like....Forever! :y
Best thing is we are all citizens, with the Mexican fellow having been naturalized in 1955.
I just made America GREAT again!

Nice looking chair, Tom. :tu
What is the wheel on the right edge of the photo? Minibike?
Ya, the chair is from 1966. Not old, I thought...Pretty old, I suppose!
Gotta go up to post 3292 to see about the fiddy......
Cool little bike.
It looks familiar.I had a Honda DAX as a kid. I'll try to snap a pic of a film picture of me riding it in the next day or so.

So is it President Tom? Uncle Sharpton? I got to hand it to you. This one is funny for sure.
Build us a wall of straights, or just a table. Wait I believe I have seen that. Hmmm.
You might have a shot at this my friend.
