I'd say leave them scales alone Tom, they look perfect the way they are.
    While I'm here...
I've pinned up the Higgens tonight. Left a couple peener marks on the show side scale, at the wedge pin...oh well!!

    Wedge: lead
Collars: domed brass washers, w/ under washers.
    Pins: brass
    Wear washers: .005 brass
Scales: 5000+ year old Bog Oak
    Finish: Minwax polycrylic.

    Those are AWESOME, outback!

Thanks, Mike. I can always count on you...as well as jmercer!
Going in-between both ideas and can see a 'Moonlight' silver at top and bottom with a lot rubbed-off.

Thanks to you guys, I know what I am going to do now!

I see the hammer at the bottom. Is that the last resort or holding the shelves up?.......

Ahhhhhhh, that was why you asked me about a blade Tom. I have one of those Day~Night Tobacco blades. I need to find it now. I was just looking at it the other day.

It was a restoration. I found it in a pawn shop for a $1. decided I needed one for razors so I picked it up. It's a vlchek and it weighs 7.5 ounces. It's a little big but it works.

Evening gentlemen. Taking a looky loo before bed, and geez that's a nice looking razor Tom. Cool idea with the photoshop really shows the potential, and choices of buff..
Like the idea of shading it as it sounds you are going to try. Look forward to the results..
Me, aside from some seemingly endless touches, am nearly done this kitchen make over..
Got the last of the tile backsplash done tonight after the counters finally went in on the weekend. So some grout, some clean up, some lighting, and some beers..
Then, some razors to be cleaned up..Hope I remember how...
