Just finished restoring this old Puma. Not looking for perfection, just presentable and shaveable. Look forward to test driving it later.

Thanked: 4206Pulled up my boot straps, cleaned my wife's double boiler, and have ordered some horn and plastic blanks from robsbitts for more scale stock.
Trying to work a slab of mottled black/white ebony I have into something nice for the beau while I find a source for cold bluing compound.
Appreciate all the suggested tips, and experiences from others. Made five sets of scales now, and buggered up two along the way, so my average is 60% success rate.
Heck, better than my gpa in grd 9. Hehe. I got better at that when I applied myself too..
Cheers.

Don't forget about Birchwood Casey Super Blue! Works great, easy and cheap. I see it at sporting goods stores.

Thanked: 2284Ever since I saw the bluing compound at LV, I've wanted to do a blade with it. Is there any problems with doing the entire blade? I'm thinking for hygiene reasons with the bluing chemicals. I suppose once it's done, the chemicals can be cleaned off and it should be fine, right?
