Tom this brings back sweet memories. Two of my uncles had Tule Troopers and they would let us kids ride them. They were made here in WA State way back when.
The BrochureOur house is as Neil left it- an Aladdins cave of 'stuff'.

It took more effort than I expected, but I finally managed to get a clean edge on dear old Mr. Greaves. It was taking so long that I went to my lapping plate and then back to the 1K.
Oddly, the toe is wider than the heel, and I think this dates to the original manufacture because there was actually little hone wear on the entire blade, just lots of rust. That took me by surprise.

Thanked: 4827Man that edge looks rough in the middle. Could easily be the lighting. Check it carefully with a loupe an when you are happy that the bevel is clean, it's off to the next step!

Thanked: 4249Right under the R looks like a deep pit. But I'm all for saving these old blades but on the same token sometimes you have to say goodnight.

I am hearing ya, Martin. Ridiculous quality is being had. Perhaps wasted! Cheap.
Funny how everyone wants a DublDuck or a Wade and Butcher!
