Great job, especially on the edge. Looks like you took it from a frown to a slight smile.
Put it on the wall!

It was really close to the stabilizer so I took just a hair out of the stabilizer just to be sure it was clear. Its close but far enough, I hope, that when honing it should turn out just above the edge. It will be close but I didn't want to remove any more than I needed to. If when I get to honing I find its too close, I'll work it again.
The spine has a slight sweep up to it so I figured the edge should be the same. Was going to make the edge straight but thats no fun. It's just Sharpening, right?

Watched that video last night, wish I could've seen him making stuff decades ago. The speed he must've had! I found it fascinating how much was "eyeballed" into perfection, especially drawing the circles.

As I'd said it was fascinating to not only watch but to listen to his knowledge. I found it interesting that while at least I knew what he was referring to as 'timber' was 'wood' or 'lumber' to many. Also how that Assie pine was a 'food grade' timber.
At the end when he's talking about 'Trade Secrets' and that now he's sharing all that he knows to keep the art alive really gives one something to think about.
Many years ago I purchased a White Mountain Ice Cream Machine and it came with a pine bucket to hold the ice and the canister (W.M. said that they used pine as it's an insulator) anyway the instructions were to soak the bucket in water before use so as to prevent leakage. This guys buckets don't leak when they are completely dry!
Here's the link again for those who missed it. It really is worth the 63 minutes to watch.

Today im learning to drive!
My 2013 Kenworth had 520,000 miles on it so they gave me a new truck. 2017 Kenworth. Automatic Trans. My left leg and right hand keep reaching but theres nowhere for them to go! Ive been shifting gears for 35years, now i dont even have a johnny bar. Very odd but its got that new truck smell. Ha.
This thing has all the bells and whistles a fancy car has plus extra saftey stuff that i got to figure out how to turn off. The beeps, buzzes, tings and bell ringing going on is way to much. I know how fast im going, how far that car is away from me, how close i am to the white line, etc... i dont need this damn computer controled truck telling me.
Sorry, i got carried away.for a minute. Anyways, it sure drive and looks good! It's just Sharpening, right?

Wait till you get called into the supervisor's office and get chewed out because the computer has finked on you for taking corners too fast, following to close and of course exceeding the speed limits etc.
