As you've pointed out, computers can now simply draw and figure things like a barrel with ease. Thus making the need to 'learn' the basics unneeded.

Did you know that a few years ago the United States Navel Academy stopped teaching how to use a sextant? Yup sailors no longer need to know their position using the stars as the computers and satellites will do it for them------------as long as there is power, computers and satellites---------where a sextant can do it without any of that.

Technological advancements?? Only if they work!
Probably cheaper too hire a few more sailors to replace the ones that are lost than to teach the class....

I got a new starter and ground cable installed on my rig today. Boy is NAPA proud of their core deposits! Geeze!

Roy, I just watched the cooper video. Wow! Not only was the gentleman interesting so was his work. I love watching people that know what they are doing because they make it look so simple. Thanks for sharing

Thank you for taking the time. It is fascinating, not only him, his work but the process. I just wish more would take the time. Oh well the old 'Lead a horse to water' thing.

Finally got this beauty bevel set and whisker ready! Had to get my 1/4 Norton's out and hone in sections with blending strokes as well. Hope not to do that again any time soon.

Default so cute. And so broken

These guys are already pretty short, like 2.5" of blade. And this one will have to be even shorter, I guess. It was so cute I couldn't leave it at the shop.

When I shorten it, I'll have to modify the scales. I was thinking I'd leave the wedge where it is and take down the pivot end. It'll be a little fatter as a result though.

I think I'd archive those scales, and keep my eye peeled for a good blade in a set of scales that are broken at the pivot.
    Those look pretty nice..!!

If ya know what I mean. [emoji6]
