Mike, you might have to do what you seem to do well & make some scales for it unless you can find a razor with good scales but a junk blade.
I restored a Reynolds like Leatherstockings has that came out really nice.
    Here it is:

I saved a set once. I cleaned them with scotchbrite and starter fluid. After they sat for a day I filled all the cracks and delimitation with thin CA. It sucked it in like crazy, and after two coats I sanded them a little and then a neats foot oil bath. Polished them up and they are just fine. They still look a little funny. If I can find them I will add a picture later. Starter fluid dissolves all manners of gunk and them evaporates like it was never there. Better than MEK as far as I can see.

Nope, can't hurt. We'll see how that goes brother. Like I said, that's one thing I haven't tried. I just realized I typed this earlier but didn't send it until Rezdog posted above.

Down here starter fluid is Ether and may not be good for anyone's health, used indoors.

Neither is leaving a can of opened denatured alcohol in your shed/shop/man cave, with the doors shut. [emoji57]

Yank it out and wash it good, outback! Epoxy first, oil last!

It is here too my friend. You are correct and it does need to be used outside, preferably with a gentle breeze and a respirator. It will kill brain cells at an amazing rate. Works well but needs to be used with some serious precautions.
