I have an old Joseph Elliot with the same collars.
There is my point in a nutshell, trying to recover the costs involved.

And yes, I didn't give the collars much of a look, Not the nut and bolts I was referring too, cheers for pointing that out, but I still don't like the look.

I don't think anyone mentioned the razors being yours either?

I also hope you read the bit about ascribing value too... I don't see the value there, but it seems that you do. Why not place a bid? The other razor he has listed with the scales that have the inscription on them are more realistic but that's because it's a complete package... It's got the historical value somewhat.

The other one is being used as a shaver only, there is no historical value there with the scales having been replaced, and they aren't really adding to it's value, only its utility. As I said, I'd much rather spend $150 elsewhere... All power to you if you wouldn't. I'm willing to bet that noone here will place a bid on that razor after starkly defending it though.
Thanks for your opinion, like noses, we all have one.

However, if I don't like a certain razor, especially one that is rather rare, in fairly good shape, I don't post it in a section called, "The Wall of Shame", where this razor clearly doesn't belong and then slam the seller.

Like I said, who peed in your cornflakes this morning....

I think you mean "Like I ASKED..." But now we are just getting snarky.

I'm glad you've written off my opinion as trash but hold yours high still Phrank... I didn't trash the seller, but if in your opinion I did, I guess it's like your nose, I'm glad its attached to your face, not mine.

However, let's all remember what this thread is about, it seems odd that we defend a seller that we might know but shame and laugh at every other one that has been posted on here.
I guess I didn't think that someone might get upset on the internet and then the world would end.

But enough snarkiness from me, my apologies to all who are offended.

As for my cornflakes? I like the tang.

Allow me to smooth this all over with this razor

Antique Cut Throat Hand Forged Bengall Razor Made in Sheffield England

I listed this razor a few months ago on this thread, the seller is still trying. He said he would give it to me if I could find another razor like it...

I sent him a pic of my 5 Bengalls but I never heard back from him...

I have one just like it. I do not think they are very rare . OTOH, they are good shavers.

Seller states: " I would recommend for a collector- the blade is cracked however it's still an authentic blade."

$120 for an "authentic" blade is tempting. I guess "cracked" and "broken in half" mean the same thing.

Amazing what these sellers think they have! That's just crazy.

To bad most of them are just the heel ends. If you could get a couple of toes they could be glued together.
