Thread: eBay 101

I've had one or two razors that had that coloring on the blade. Maybe not quite that extensive, but it was on both sides and looked like a tempering issue. However it polished off and the blade sharpened fine and held a good edge. With this one I don't know. It doesn't strike me as a razor that looks like it has been buffed.

It is tarnish, Pure and simple. If it were from buffing, it would be shiny! Here is one with similar patina. Surely is not from buffing!

They look totally different to me. It's the rainbow effect that makes me think it's not just tarnish (though of course there's some of that as well).

Everyday knives, so a little different, and different environments obviously, but the same effect:

Fair enough. This is also a similar effect and it looks as though the tarnish line is where the scales close on it.

hone and shave. THEN you will know for sure!

How do you even do that to a blade?! Lol!

Persistence? LOL. Other than that I surely don't have a clue. I might try to find one of these on the super cheap and see if there's a way to get enough of it(maybe a third of the blade length?) sharp to shave with. Just to see...
