Thanked: 334I'm curious: I wonder how many of those in support of the secession of Texas also voted for Romney. Just an honest question with no barb on the hook.

Thanked: 67I was about to say that Britain is definitely not a republic (we have a queen) and not socialist by any stretch of the imagination.
One of the most socialist features of the UK state is the NHS (set up by Attlee's Labour government just after WWII), which is very popular. I recently needed some fairly major medical work, and they were fantastic. I didn't pay a penny, either (it's funded from general taxation). For some reason though we don't have Obama's death panels as part of the NHS, dunno why. How are they working out across the pond?

This talk has to just be cry badies.
not wanting to wait four more years to get another
chance to vote someone else in.
Also picking a time when ya in a long term dought is one of the
worst times to consider such action. cause the states not going to vote yes.
even if ya could out might the force of the white house and the military that we have
which will not happen. My prediction is your would pay a heavy price to import the food your
place would need from the states or mexico. Mexico is not going to back you.
they don't want another war with the states.

Thanked: 10The New Republic of Texas?
I would wager the majority of signers voted for Romney. Forgive my assumption, but I don't believe anyone who voted for Obama and, subsequently, saw their candidate win the election would vote to leave the union.
If there are any logicians out there that find I'm committing a logical fallacy, feel free to correct me.

Texas has always been my second home, and it may become my next home.
