Thanked: 4206Wrap for around the steering column that tucks under the bracket to sandwich it to the floorboard. No air leaks basically once I wrap a clamp around the column .

Thanked: 4206Think I only know the term from the old manuals Ive been referring to as gospel last couple years,
Spent a day tearing the garage apart looking for the dual sender gauge I picked up a year ago as it’s dashboard time!
Sizing things up before I plan out the wiring, as the dash didn’t look like this on the car as received.
Still need to install the ignition top right, as well as the choke cable, and starter button along the bottom.
Fog’s will be tied into the main lights and be on all the time the main beams are.
Cheers and hope you had a relaxing holiday all!"Depression is just anger,, without the enthusiasm."

Thanked: 4206Gettin my geek on and working from a digital copy of the wiring gives me an easy place to start to tackle my wiring installation from.
This shows generator, control box, and positive ground still so is not an exact representation of what my final lay out will look like, but it’s a good start.
I’ve decided to source an authentic Lucas PLC5 ignition switch not so much for authenticity reasons but because it was so damn clever it serves as both ignition and headlight control in one unit and I am trying to not cut any new holes in the dash plate, keep it to the original layout best I can so I need the multi-functionality of the originals design.
Cheers gents. Nothing like pulling your wire to make a man feel alive!

I didnt know it has a positive ground. I worked on a self-loading scraper (some call them earth movers) that had a positive ground. I just had to keep telling my self to go backwards with the wiring and it turned out fine. It sure made me think a lot harder.

Thanked: 4206The Brit’s are/were stubborn, for those that didn’t know that, hehe.
Only country to stay positive ground after everyone else in the world switched their thinking….
God bless em,,,,

Oh PLEASE tell me that thing is negative ground?
Oh good. Your diagram sez it is? Maybe not.
Might be a fine time to correct that. Makes things go much easier...Last edited by sharptonn; 01-05-2022 at 02:49 AM.

I have an old motorcycle and a Model A Ford positive ground.
Easy on the Ford. Hard on the Triumph. Still..It works!
IIRC, Mike's car has a Delco 7127 alternator which should be done negative ground I think.Last edited by sharptonn; 01-05-2022 at 03:49 AM.
