Thanked: 4206Original horns were black and twice the size. The hella’s are red and tbh, I was thinking of painting them but decided leave em.
And I disagree that all things American are black.. Ford had that right, but ignition systems come in red, or yellow, or blue, same with chrome vs plastic part choices. Lots of colour schemes.
And besides,,I haven’t final routed stuff through clamps yet so my bay will look cleaner still, and my bonnets will be closed so all folks will see is green anyway.

Well...You certainly have a lot of new things to 'shake down'. Patience will be key from here on out I think.

Thanked: 4206I’d like to think I’ve been applying patience throughout this rebuild but I hear ya Tom. Extra checks as things come back together are the order of the day.
Running out of steam so will leave the passenger rear fender till tomorrow.
Here’s the one thing I’m not sure of and had to get to this stage to look at it. The front valence..
Rear valance looks good in green under the tank, but the front, under the bumper and between the front wings, I was torn between keeping it green so the front and rear are the same, or going pearl.
Still torn, and may change this one still, but gonna carry on, there’s a bumper and a light bar that still goes up there so it may be ok..and of course the bonnet halves are green as well. Might flow still when everything is complete.
But another step in car like condition once again."Depression is just anger,, without the enthusiasm."

And then suddenly... Holy Crap! There's a CAR in my garage!!
FWIW, I like how it looks now with the green in the middle up front. I guess it's one of those things where you'll know for sure once it's together and you've spent some time on the road. Carry on!
It was in original condition, faded red, well-worn, but nice.
This was and still is my favorite combination; beautiful, original, and worn.

Getting close Mike. Looks like a car again. That has been a heck of a large project.

Thanked: 4206Prolly the longest I took away from the rebuild was a weeks vacation last year with the wife. Didn’t work every day in the winter either, too damn cold.
And to me it’s been almost 2 years since I actually took her off the road to rebuild. The first 2 of this thread I drove her and had fun amassing parts.
Still, could have gone quicker in a proper shop with more focus on the end goal. But really I wasn’t sure about a lot of this as I went and had to customize a fair bit.
I’m happy it’s almost to the point I can test the ride once more. That’s all that matters in the end..

Thanked: 4206Yup, see this picture, July 26th 2020.
To me, that’s when this tear down started.
And here’s some of the stuff I undid.
She’s come a long way.
