Been ages since I've had one; It's gotta be the best beer on the planet, IMO...

Just an update since I started the thread. Many thanks to all who contributed and I tried many of those mentioned when I could find them. My current favorites are rather boring after all of the wonderful beers and ales I've tried but I've come to like Samuel Adams Boston Lager and imported Lowenbrau as my current top two. Don't get me wrong, I love many of the more exotic imports but these are easily gotten, reasonably priced and delicious.
Be careful how you treat people on your way up, you may meet them again on your way back down.

    Default Many to choose from

Some of my current favorites are from New Belgium Brewing Company:
Abbey, 1554, Fat Tire, Mothership Whit to name a few.

    Also from Boulevard Brewing Company:
Boulevard unfiltered wheat, Boulevard Zone (both great summer beers).

Blue Moon is also another great summer beer, try it with an orange slice.

    P. Kwak (from Belgium) is another great one if you can find it.

McChoufe (not sure on the spelling, but it has a funny looking dwarf on the label).

    Cheers!

Spaten Optimator, hands down. I love it when I can find it on tap. It really opens up the warmer it gets.

    +1 on the Guinness!

And if you really want those 14% beers not to put you out in two take up drinking scotch with a splash of water. That'll get ya taken care of!

Lagavulin or Laphroaig (when it's available) are my favorite single malts. Never got in the habit of adding water....and NEVER ice.

I like Laphroaig a lot, but when I don't feel like spending quite as much I go for the Glenmorangi or sometimes Glenfiddich.
+1 on no ice. I actually got a hold of these things recently called Whiskey Stones, they're a rock that has been shaped and smoothed and you can use em like ice (after freezing them of course), without the melting and diluting affect. I got into the habit of a splash of water since well one I was told that it helps release the flavor and bouquet of the scotch and two I try to make sure that when I'm drinking I am taking in water too.

+1 and 1 and 1 ont he magic hat #9. That just a magic beer. And next and far underrated is the Scrimshaw pilsner from North Coast brewing in Mendocino, CA. So sweet, so hoppy, but no bite. Mmmmm. Need to get some more.
